The Qur’an serves as primary source and foundation of a Muslim’s Religion. In order to fully understand and appreciate the rich content and multiple layers of the Qur’an, we at Turath Publishing are honoured to invite you to a brief look at sciences of the Qur’an, in particular details about revelation and its history, causes of revelation, Isrā’īlī narrations, abrogation, preservation, commentary of the Qur’an and its sources and the miraculous nature (i’jaz) of the Qur’an. This 5 week course is based on a new and improved English translation of Shaykh al-Islam Mufti Taqi Usmani’s contemporary book, originally written in Urdu, on the sciences of the Qur’an. The book is incredibly comprehensive and simplified, presenting classical discussions from the early generations and complimenting that with new research and critical engagement with orientalist methodologies.
