Hanbali notes on Imam Juwayni’s (Rh.) Waraqaat

Waraqat of Imam Juwayni Rh is a well-known primer on Usul ul Fiqh or Islamic legal theory. It is a science that outlines the correct methodology, sound principles and authentic sources that are required to be followed in the process of deducing a hukm or ruling. These classes will aim as per the goal of the text to give an outline of this wonderful science along with an appreciation of the mechanics and the tool-box of a jurist. This course is part of a introductory Hanbali Curriculum. The author of the text and its commentator i.e. Imam Al-Jalal Al-Mahalli are both of the Shaafi school. However, the Usul ul Fiqh of the Shaafi, Maliki and Hanbali schools are almost identical. Therefore, the Hanbali explanatory notes on the Waraqat of Dr. Mutlaq Jasir (Kuwait) will be utilised to harmonise with the school.
